Retroactive Pay

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As you know, a new collective agreement between our union and the employer was signed in May (click here for a timeline before a deal was reached). Because the old collective agreement expired in August 2013, the new collective agreement begins September 2013.

A copy of the agreement is available on the Human Resources site. As well, changes to the agreement were sent to you in May. Once we have the final sign-offs, we will make the new collective agreement available on our website.

In the new collective agreement, we negotiated a pay raise. Therefore, if you worked as a GA or TA between September 2013 and August 2014 (inclusive), you have a right to retroactive pay. Human Resources has compiled the list and you should be getting your retroactive pay next pay period (i.e., in 15 days).

Again, thank you for your support during the negotiations in the first half of this year. The support of a membership is a driving force for an executive to do what its membership needs and wants; this was certainly the case for us.
