Labour union certified by the Ontario Labour Board to represent graduate and teaching assistants at the University of Windsor.
WHO WE ARE?
We are a labour union certified by the Ontario Labour Board to represent
graduate and teaching assistants at the University of Windsor. We have
been in existence since September of 2002. We negotiated our first
contract in May of 2003 and settled our first collective agreement with
the University.
WHAT WE DO?
As a fairly new union with a unique makeup, there is still much to be done, such as recruiting stewards, departmental and committee representatives and establishing ties with other academic unions. This is an ongoing effort by the Local Executive and if you are interested in any aspect of the local, please contact us at cupe4580@uwindsor.ca.
FOR GA's & TA's
Similarly, if you are a TA or GA, and your run into any problems while performing your duties, you should know that Local 4580 has full knowledge and ability to represent you in front of your supervisor and/or school administration. Hence, if you do need our assistance, please send us an email!
