Our Time Together: A national space for Indigenous, Black, and racialized CUPE members and allies

Let’s get together to talk about how we keep building an anti-racist union. This online meeting takes place Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, from 1-4 pm EST. It will be hosted by Debra Merrier, CUPE National Diversity Vice-President representing Indigenous workers and Aubrey Gonsalves, CUPE National Diversity Vice-President representing Black and racialized workers.

The CUPE National Anti-Racism Strategy was adopted three years ago and has been rolling out across our union. Your Diversity Vice-Presidents are inviting you to get together to celebrate the progress we’ve made and organize for the work that still lies ahead.

At this online event, you will meet other Indigenous, Black, and racialized CUPE members and allies who are committed to fighting racism.

This is CUPE’s fourth national meeting to help put the Anti-Racism Strategy into action. It helps us achieve one of the strategy’s key goals: increasing the representation of Indigenous, Black, and racialized members in our union.
